Haze still hangs over Mexico City, despite success in curbing some emissions.

In March 2006, a team from UC San Diego and six other institutions joined a larger month-long, multinational effort to identify sources of the pollution and trace its windblown path beyond the boundaries of the sprawling metropolis.
